Essay
One night, after finishing my studies, I fell asleep and dreamt that I had become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra! Even after I woke up in the morning, the thought would not leave my mind. If I really became the Chief Minister… I began to think seriously about what I would do for my state.
Being Chief Minister is not just about honour, cars and salutes; it means carrying the hopes of crores of people on your shoulders. So on the very first day I would decide that every decision must be taken with the common person in mind.
My first focus would be education. Every village in the state would have a school with a good building, clean toilets, a library and computers. Teachers would receive modern training. I would make sure that no child leaves school only because of a lack of money.
Our Maharashtra is an agricultural state. I believe that if the farmer is happy, the state is happy. To give farms enough water, I would encourage small check dams, farm ponds and drip irrigation. To help farmers get a fair price, I would build storage centres near villages, so that no farmer is forced to sell his crop in a hurry.
Health is the next important need. Every village would have a clinic with enough medicines and doctors. I would arrange ambulances so that people in remote hamlets also get treatment in time. Clean drinking water reaching every home would be my dream.
Today's young people need work. I would start skill training centres for them. I would support small industries, farm-related businesses and new ideas, so that young people do not have to leave their villages to find jobs.
I would not ignore cleanliness and the environment either. I would run tree-planting drives in every school and village. I would lovingly explain to people why they should use less plastic. To make government work quick and transparent, I would bring most services online. I would listen to people's complaints myself.
Of course, none of this is possible alone. A state moves forward only with the cooperation of its people. I feel that the post of Chief Minister is not power but a golden opportunity to serve. Today I am a student; but if I study well, stay honest and care for people, this dream can surely come true one day.

- Put different areas – education, farming, health, jobs, environment – in separate paragraphs.
- Avoid naming any party or person; write only ideas for the public good.
- End with a line of your own, for example: "Whether a post is big or small, service is the true duty."
