Essay
When I hear a "moo" in the morning, I know our Kapila is calling me. The cow is my favourite animal. She is a very calm, gentle and useful animal.
The cow is a domestic animal. She has four legs, two horns, two ears, two big eyes and a long tail. She uses her tail to drive away the flies on her body. Cows come in many colours, such as white, black, reddish and brown. A cow eats grass, dry fodder, green fodder, husk and oil-cake. A cow chews the cud, which means she brings the food she has eaten back into her mouth and chews it slowly.
The cow gives us milk. Cow's milk is nourishing. It is considered very good for small children and sick people. Many foods are made from milk, such as curd, buttermilk, butter, ghee and paneer. Cow dung is made into manure, which is useful for farming. In villages, cow dung is also used to make gobar gas. When a cow's male calf grows up, it becomes a bullock, and the bullock helps the farmer with farm work.
We have a cow at home. Her name is "Kapila". She is reddish-brown and has a white spot on her forehead. When I come home from school, I give her water and feed her green fodder. When I stroke her back, she looks at me lovingly. Her little calf keeps jumping around the whole house.
The cow holds a place of respect in India. She gives us so much, so we too should take good care of her. We should give her a clean shed, enough water and fodder. We should not throw plastic on the road, because cows fall ill after eating it. Being kind and loving to all animals is true humanity.
